ThinkWorks COO Shares Tips for Parents of Thinking Children
May 20th, 2008
Ithaca, NY - ThinkWorks executive Laura Colosi earned some ink in yesterday's edition of the Ithaca Journal. In an article titled 'Parenting a Thinking Child,' Colosi stressed the role of parents in the development of their child's thinking skills.
Children must learn to think, Colosi wrote, and their parents play a critical role in that process at home and at school. "Whether your definition of success for your child is professional accomplishment, personal self-fulfillment, solving complex global problems, or anything else -- new skills are needed for them to thrive."
The column is the first in a series that the Ithaca Journal asked Colosi to write. Future articles will address questions such as:
- How can we recognize and encourage 21st Century Thinking Skills in children?
- How can 21st Century Thinking Skills be taught at home?
- How can we teach 21st Century Thinking Skills in schools?
- How can 21st Century Thinking Skills help our children practice pro-social behaviors and become more attuned to the emotions of others?
