Parent Magazine Profiles ThinkBlocks
September 1st, 2008
Cincinnati, OH - Cincinnati Parent put ThinkBlocks on their back-to-school shopping list. The Rave Reviews section of their August magazine notes the impact ThinkBlocks can have on students' learning. The editors were excited that "a teacher can illustrate abstract ideas or academic concepts" with the pedagogical tool.
The editors admitted that they were skeptical at first. "We thought the designers at ThinkWorks were exaggerating about ThinkBlocks," they wrote. But they soon realized that they could help teachers and students "look at old subjects in new ways. The possibilities are endless."
In response to the editors comments, Dr. Cabrera, a research scientist, inventor of ThinkBlocks, and Founder of ThinkWorks, said, "this is a common reaction. At first people are a little skeptical that a simple block can be used in so many ways, from Pre-school to PhD. But, when they see these blocks in action, they realize the infinite possibilities and robustness of the cognitive framework [Patterns of Thinking Method] that are the basis for ThinkBlocks' design."
