When we hear the word "creative" or "innovative," we often think of the great scientists, artists, and business people whose names are well known. However, innovation happens every day and is seldom a one-person affair. Watson and Crick are hailed as the men who discovered DNA, but their work was built upon that of thousands of other scientists. Mozart was undoubtedly a great composer, but he owes much of his success to his music teachers, earlier composers, and instrument designers. To be creative, one must be able to identify problems and opportunities, to look at situations in different ways and see what else may be considered.
