ThinkWorks helps individuals and organizations to improve by developing thinking, learning, and conceptual modeling skills. All of our products and workshops are based on scientific research developed at Cornell University by Dr. Derek Cabrera.
21st Century Thinking™ Skills include six abilities that all people will need in the "knowledge age": (1) Critical Thinking: to analyze, deconstruct, and evaluate ideas, (2) Creative Thinking: to construct new ideas and lines of thought, (3) Systems Thinking: to understand complex patterns in context, (4) Scientific Thinking: to observe, hypothesize, predict, and validate with evidence, (5) Interdisciplinary Thinking: to unify, transfer, synthesize, and integrate, and (6) Prosocial/Emotional Thinking: to build relationships through compassion, concern, and shared experience.
The Patterns of Thinking™ Method includes four essential and universal skills that underlie all six abilities: (1) Test Distinctions: Compare and contrast between similarities and opposites and test boundaries and meanings, (2) Construct Systems: Sort, nest, and categorize using part-whole thinking, (3) Recognize Relationships: Make connections, interactions, associations, and cause & effect explicit, and (4) Take Perspectives: See new possibilities from different points-of-view.
ThinkBlocks™ are a tactile educational tool that makes it easy and accessible to teach beginner to advanced thinking skills.
